CHRONIC DISEASES & ENVIRONMENTAL EPIDEMIOLOGY

The Chronic Diseases & Environmental Epidemiology research group focuses on chronic diseases, environmental health and socio-economic determinants of health.

mission

We place a particular emphasis on the analysis of the interactions between environmental and lifestyle factors and how they affect health. Our research group contributes to a better understanding of the state of health of the Luxembourgish population, in particular with regard to cardiometabolic health.

We are especially interested in fostering awareness on the impact of social, natural and physical environments on health. For this, we aim to adapt the scope and application of this research to new technologies for targeting disadvantaged environments, new measures for pollution control and reducing health inequalities. Integrating new technologies into the study of environmental health could give a boost to future epidemiological research projects.

We hope that our results will have an impact on public health policies targeting environmental conditions as a key strategy to improve health and reduce health inequalllities
